Store Cattle Report 220424
On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly Sale of 200 Store Cattle & Feeding Bulls of all classes.
A dearer trade was witnessed straight across the board, with the sale topping at £1955 for a twenty-two-month-old, none-farm-assured Limousin bullock from first time customer, Mr W Routledge, Lords Town, selling to Mr D Barker. The same home sold Limousin heifers to £1825, purchased by Mr R Dickinson. This full consignment of 14 out-wintered bullocks and heifers averaged £1672.14, selling for several hundred pounds more than expected.
Dairy-bred Native cattle topped at £1635 for Hereford bullocks from Messrs I S & C A Mounsey, Town Head.
A consignment of mainly dairy-bred Aberdeen Angus and Charolais heifers from Messrs M Ridsdale & Son, Yew Tree Farm, to average £1525, topping at £1555.
Black & Whites topped at £1385 for a pair of bullocks from Messrs D Burne, Town End Farm, selling to Mr R Dickinson.
