About Us
Penrith Auction Mart is operated by Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP, a group of local farmers and other interested people, who took over the day to day operation from Penrith Farmers’ & Kidd’s in 2002.
The management team is led by David Crowden, Chairman and General Manager supported by 10 farmer directors and John Wharton, Auctioneer and Livestock Manager. We very much pride ourselves in being “Farmers working for Farmers”
The stock is drawn from the fertile Eden Valley of Cumbria, the Pennines to the east and the large area of Lakeland hills to the west. The district has always been noted as one of the leading livestock areas of the country.
