Calves & Stirks - 15.03.24
On Friday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 185 Rearing Calves and Stirks forward. A good number forward with a big number of young calves on offer. With quality continuing to sell with ease.
Topping today’s sale at £850 for 2 Limousin Bulls from Mr W Awde, The Old Vicarage, purchased by Mr R Field with Dairy X Blue Bulls from Messrs J M & R M Haston, Dearham Hall selling to £700 for 6 month old. A big number of calves topped at £600 for a 4 month old Blue Bull from Messrs Jackson, Frizington Park and also selling others to £590.
Heifers topped at £590 for a Charollais from Messrs Messenger, The Howes with Herefords to £390 from Messrs J J Henderson, Park House. Once again Dairy sired calves sold well with Montbeliarde to £270 from Messrs Simpson, Knock Cross and Black & Whites £235 from Brackenbrough Home Farm.
