On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 55 OTM Cattle.
Demand held strong once again but more are most certainly required for our next sale.
The sale topped at 277.5ppk for an OTM Beef Shorthorn from Mr J Cartmel, Winter Crag, realising £1784.33, purchased by Mr F Towers, with this consignment averaging £1543.07/264ppk.
A 7-year-old Limousin X British Blue cow achieved £2017.03/251ppk from Messrs Harryman, Keskadale, purchased by Mr Owain Llyr, with this consignment averaging £1700/244ppk.
A dairy-bred British Blue cow topped at 201.5ppk/£1630.14 from Mr N Donald, Lamonby Hall, purchased by Mr W Barker.
Holstein cows, straight out the parlour, topped at 159.5ppk from Messrs B & GC Donald, The Ling, and others sold to £1163.39 from Messrs Hayton, Penny Hill, purchased by Mr L Fell.
Cast bulls topped at £1943.40/197.5ppk for a 9-year-old Limousin from FR Crew, Gall Farm, Lockerbie, selling to Mr Owain Llyr.
