On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 259 Store Cattle and Feeding Bulls of all classes.
Once again trade continues to fly with an increase on our previous sale. All buyers require more numbers to fulfil demand.
The sale topped at £2105 for a strong, meaty Aberdeen Angus bullock from Messrs A & S Robley, Nelson Hill Farm, this home sold a run of 6 to average £1982.50.
Heifers topped at £1955 for a lovely well-fleshed Limousin from Messrs JG & RW Nevinson & Son, High House Farm. Heifers with flesh would easily be up £100 per head on the previous fortnight.
Messrs DH & ER Strong, Well House, broke the £2000 barrier with a Limousin bullock realising £2075, this home’s consignment of 10 sold to average £1797. Messrs Elliott Bros, Harbour Flatt, sold a pair of 10-month-old Limousin bullocks to £1285.
Mr KJ Burrow, Hacra, sold a run of 4 Limousin bulls to average £1297.50.
