Rearing Calves 151223

On Friday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their last Rearing Calf and Stirk sale of 2023.

A small entry of 60 was forward to a ring full of buyers, ensuring a buoyant trade throughout.

Topping today’s sale at £600 was a twelve-month-old Longhorn heifer from Hill Crest Farm. British Blue heifers sold at £560 for a pen of 4 eight-month-olds from Messrs W C & D J Copland, Nether Colinhurst.

Calves topped at £385 for a lovely British Blue bull from Donaldson’s Dairies.

Heifers topped at £370 for an eight-week-old British Blue heifer from J R Tiplady, The Bramery.

Angus calves topped at £350 from Brackenburgh Home Farm.
