Store Cattle 041223
On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly Sale of 239 Store Cattle & Feeding Bulls of all classes.
A lovely show of cattle was forward once again, with trade remaining extremely strong. Topping today’s sale at £1,955 for a twenty-two-month-old Limousin bullock from Messrs Wales, Thackwood. The same home topped the heifer section at £1,945 for a British Blue heifer, all bought by Mr R Dickinson. Messrs Wales, Thackwood, sold a run of 15 stores to average £1,800.
Aberdeen Angus cattle still continue to sell with ease, topping at £1,435 for a pair of bullocks from Mr R Dawson, Southwaite Farm.
Black & Whites topped at £1,135 for a pen of 7 from Messrs Forrest, Low Rutter.
Many more cattle could have been easily sold.
