On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly Sale of 225 Store Cattle & Feeding Bulls, this included our Latter Fair sale of Suckled Calves.
A great show of cattle was on offer for the time of year, and a marvellous trade was had throughout. A great ringside of buyers was here once again all eager to buy.
Topping today’s sale at £1965 was a Limousin heifer from Messrs MTP & SD Wills, Fawcett Park. This homes consignment of three heifers sold to average £1845.
Messrs R & E M Smithson, Bloan Farm topped the bullock section at £1875 with a twenty-three-month-old Aberdeen Angus.
Black & White bullocks topped at £1255 for a pen of six 22-month-olds from Messrs Curwen, Sunny Gill.
Suckled calves topped at £1155 for an eight-month-old Limousin bullock from Dancing Gate Farm.
Our next sale of store cattle and feeding bulls will be held on Monday 4th December. Entries for this sale close noon Monday 27th November.
