On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly Sale of 313 Store Cattle & Feeding Bulls.
A marvellous entry of cattle was forward with buyers very keen to purchase and vendors going home highly delighted with their returns. A consignment of superb quality,
20 to 33-month-old bullocks averaged £1925 from Mr E Charlton, Forfar, topping at £2215 for a Limousin purchased by Mr D Barker, a further five in this run sold in excess of £2000.
Heifers topped at £1965 for a 29-month-old Limousin X British Blue heifer from Messrs DH & ER Strong & Son, Well House, purchased by Mr R Dickinson.
A superb entry of dairy-bred bullocks topped at £1855 for a British Blue from Messrs A Tiffin & Son, Wham Head Farm. Aberdeen Angus bullocks realised £1665 from Messrs E Hird, Park Head, with this home also selling Aberdeen Angus heifers to £1585.
A pair of Limousin X British Friesian heifers achieved £1765 from Messrs JG & RW Nevinson & Son, High House Farm, purchased by Mr A Skelton.
