On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of Prime Cattle.

An increased entry of prime cattle was forward to a very nice trade with more most certainly required on a fortnightly basis. The sale topped at 259.5ppk/£1947.35 for an 18-month-old Charolais X Bull from Messrs Raine, Fog Close, purchased by R Pearson Wholesale Butchers, with this consignment averaging 246ppk/£1826.13.

Dairy-bred Aberdeen Angus clean heifers, none-farm-assured, topped at £1460.94/234.5ppk from Messrs M Ridsdale, Yew Tree Farm.

Further consignments are required on a fortnightly basis.
