On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 59 OTM Cattle.
Strong numbers keep coming forward with flesh and quality still in high demand. The sale topped at £1837.88/253.5ppk for a Limousin X cow from Messrs Elliott Bros, Harbour Flatt, purchased by Mr D Barker, this consignment averaged £1794.15/249.5ppk.
Dairy cows topped at £1220.33/153.5ppk for a Normande from Mr J Findlay, Moorside Farm, purchased by Mr SH Bowes. An over-thirty-month Holstein heifer, weighing 568kg, realised £1070.68 from Messrs TR & PE Little, Low Moor Dyke, purchased by Mr A Jarvis.
A Saler X Limousin cow, 40-month-old topped at £1446.51/219.5ppk from Mr AG Teasdale, Colstons.
A 10-year-old British Blue X Limousin cow achieved £1648.50/235.5ppk from Messrs E & R Brass, Barnskew, purchased by Mr Owain Llyr.
A 60-month-old Wagyu X bullock topped at £1422.93/164.5ppk from Messrs JW Watson, Whygill Head, purchased by Mr S McGimpsey.
Demand throughout the sale was very strong with buyers keen to purchase, more numbers are required on a fortnightly basis. Our next sale will be held on Monday 6th November.
