Store Cattle 030723
On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 213 Store Cattle.
A good show of genuine store cattle was on offer, with well-fleshed cattle good to sell.
Topping today’s sale at £1915 was a great twenty-four-month-old Limousin cross bullock from Messrs MTP & SD Wills, Fawcett Park. This same home also topped the heifer section at £1855 and £1845 for Limousin crosses.
Messrs JG & RW Nevinson & Son, High House Farm, sold a cracking run of three Limousin cross bullocks and heifers to average £1791.
Mr J Findlay, Moorside Farm, sold a great run of twelve well-fleshed Normandie bullocks to average £1344.
Some great runs of younger cattle attracted large interest, with Messrs M Bindloss and Son, Shap Abbey, selling 28 fourteen-month-old Limousin cross bullocks and heifers to top at £1585 for a pair of bullocks, with this whole run averaging £1325.
Messrs A & N Bennett, Hollins Farm, sold a lovely yearling heifer for £1475.
