Store Cattle 190623
On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 209 Store Cattle, this sale also included our “Latter Fair” sale of beef breeding cattle.
A very mixed offering of all classes was forward to a busy ringside of buyers.
The sale topped at £2055 for a nineteen-month-old British Blue bullock from Messrs MTP & SD Wills, Fawcett Park, selling to Mr D Barker. The same home topped the heifer section with a Limousin X British Blue realising £1985, purchased by Mr RW Dickinson, High Knipe. This consignment of five cattle averaged £1955.
Dairy-bred British Blue heifers topped at £1935 from Messrs JD Bowness, Cliburn Hall, with this run averaging £1600.
A strong pen of four Holstein bullocks, 25-26-months old, achieved £1275 from Mr TJ Noble, Mellgates.
Messrs JG & RW Nevinson & Son, High House Farm, sold a consignment of Continental dairy-bred heifers to average £1788.33, topping at £1895, purchased by Mr A Skelton.
With lots of demand for all classes, vendors are highly recommended to enter and take the trade while it’s there. Our next store cattle sale will be held on Monday 3rd July, entries close Noon Monday 26th June.
