On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 38 OTM Cattle.
A plainer show of cows was forward but meat saw no let-up in trade with a none-farm assured, dairy-bred Charolais weighing 841kg, topping at £1879.64/223.5ppk from Messrs Jackson, Oakergill, purchased by Mr D Barker.
A seven-year-old British Friesian cow, weighing 754kg achieved £1624.87/215.5ppk from Mr WH Brass, Low Row, purchased by Mr L Fell.
An eight-year-old Limousin feeding cow achieved £1683.88 from Messrs DH & ER Strong & Son, this home also sold a nine-year-old Limousin stock bull to £2313.99/233.5ppk, purchased by Mr Owain Llyr.
A ten-year-old dairy-bred British Blue cow, weighing 719kg achieved £1549.45 from Messrs MTP & SD Wills, Fawcett Park.
Demand is very strong and more numbers are required on a fortnightly basis to fulfil demand. Our next sale will be held on Monday 3rd July.
