Coronation Special Store Cattle 080523
On Monday Penrith & District Farmers' Mart LLP held a Coronation Special prize show & sale of 383 Store Cattle, kindly sponsored by PFK Rural.
The pre-sale show was expertly judged by Chris Bell, Far Broom, Appleby, who awarded the champion rosette to a cracking Limousin cross heifer from MTP & SD Wills, Fawcett Park, this beast later went on to realise £2015, purchased by Mr D Barker, Scarborough.
Reserve honours went to the first prize bullock from R & JM Ridley, Ranbeck for a fourteen-month-old Limousin cross, which later sold for £1470, also selling to Mr D Barker.
Top price on the day was £2165, this was achieved for a Limousin cross bullock from Messrs R & EM Smithson, Bloan Farm.
Heifers peaked at £2055 for a roaned Limousin cross heifer from Messrs MTP & SD Wills, Fawcett Park. This home’s run of six bullocks & heifers sold to average £2051.67.
Messrs WE & B Wilson, Undercragg, sold two yearling bullocks for £1615.
Messrs EJ Ivinson & Son, Skelling Farm, sold eleven-month-old bullocks to average £1430.
