Store Cattle 300821
On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly Sale of 229 Store Cattle.
A good show of store cattle was forward to an extended ringside of buyers, this ensured all classes achieved a fair trade throughout. More cattle are required to fulfil the buyers' demand.
The sale topped at £1425 for an Aberdeen Angus X bullock from Messrs Barker, Capplegill, Moffatt, selling to Mr R Dickinson.
A run of 15-16-month-old Black & White bullocks from Messrs PJ & BE Miller, Scale Hill Farm, averaged £835.95, topping at £905.
Dairy-bred cattle topped at £1305 for a pair of twenty-three-month-old British Blue heifers from Messrs E Hird, Park Head, selling to Mr M Crapper.
Messrs M & EJ Wilson, Townend topped the heifer section at £1415 for a twenty-one-month-old Limousin, selling to Mr D Whaite, this run averaged £1365.
Messrs MTP & SD Wills, Fawcett Park sold a run of ten 15–16-month-old continental bred cattle to a top of £1395 for a Limousin heifer selling to Mr J Mather, with this consignment averaging £1200.
