Another strong entry of 1,001 spring lambs was forward, with handy-weight sheep showing a dramatic lift. A whole sale average of 401.5ppk and SQQ of 402.5ppk was achieved. The sale topped at 491ppk for a pair of 44kg Beltex lambs, achieving £216 from Lyle Farming Company, Staingills. This run of 82 lambs sold to average 433ppk/£192.50 for 44kg. A top-price-per-head of £268 was achieved for a pair of Suffolk lambs, weighing 79kg from HM Livestock, Shethin Farm. Messrs WW Armstrong, Stoneybeck Farm, sold a lovely Beltex lamb, weighing 57kg to 418ppk/£238. Messrs Cannon, Low Abbey, sold a great pen of 7 Suffolk lambs at 51kg to £220/431ppk. This run of 49 lambs sold to average 413ppk/£198 for 47kg. Mr W Morison, Greenacres, sold 14 lambs to average £211 for 53kg. Once again lambs over 50kg were regularly in excess of £200, with Holme House selling a run of 14 Dorsets at 53kg to £214.
