On Saturday 30th May, Penrith & District Farmers Mart conducted an on-farm sale on behalf of Mr Robert Jackson of Moss Dyke, Mungrisedale, Penrith. Our sincere thanks go to Robert for entrusting us with his dispersal sale and for his loyal support over the years. The sale attracted what was possibly one of the largest crowds seen at a farm sale for some time, creating a real buzz from start to finish. The strong attendance, combined with the quality of the items on offer, helped generate buoyant trade throughout the day. Topping the sale at £45,500 was the final lot of the day, a 2020 Massey Ferguson 5711S, 4 Dyna, complete with loader. Presented in excellent condition, it was purchased by local neighbours. Farm machinery sold exceptionally well, achieving retail-level prices. A welgar RP220 Master round baler and a Marshall 8-tonne grain trailer with hydraulic back door both realising £7,000. Most items remained in the local area, with a huge turnout of neighbours and friends helping to ensure the sale was a tremendous success.
